FAQs

We know that you may have questions about our scaffolding services in Lancashire and Cumbria. While we are always happy to answer any questions over phone or email, we’ve also covered those frequently asked below;

How do I know what scaffolding I need?

The type of scaffolding equipment and the design depends on what your project entails. From building size to access level, the variations in requirements are endless. However, we do not expect you to know which equipment or design you require. Our team can assess the project and carry out surveys to provide a knowledgeable answer to this question. Call us today on 07943 392 429.

Do I need a license or a permit for the scaffolding?

It depends on whether the scaffolding can be erected within the boundary of the property. If it can then no license or permit will be required. However, in residential areas, we recommend you make your neighbours aware of your plans. But if any part of the scaffolding needs to go on pavement or roads outside your property, a permit is required. While we can offer advice on obtaining permits, the responsibility is on you to ensure such permission has been granted.

Who Can Erect Scaffolding?

It is vital you employ qualified and experienced scaffolders to erect your scaffolding. Such workers will have HSE training, CISRS cards, and CITB cards. It is your responsibility to ensure you employ competent tradespeople to carry out the work. Therefore, here at Elite Scaffolds, we can provide proof of all qualifications and insurances.

How do I know the scaffolding is safe?

Here at Elite Scaffolds health and safety is at the forefront of everything we do. All quotes include a free site inspection and survey. We carry out an initial risk assessment and then a further risk assessment and inspection on the day. Furthermore, our technicians revisit all our sites every 7 days to carry out further safety checks. Additional safety checks will also be carried out after extreme weather or after any alterations.  You can read more about us and our work below;

Do I need to be available on the day?

No, there is no requirement for you to take time off for the delivery of your scaffolding. Our team will handle everything for you. However, we must insist preparations are made to ensure access. For example, no vehicles blocking the building, any gate access to be left unlocked or access codes given. In addition, it is advisable you are available to take phone calls on the day should any issues arise.

What if my project goes over schedule?

In our vast experience, some projects can take longer than initially planned. Consequently, we offer scaffolding hire which means you can continue the work undisturbed. If you need to reschedule your dismantle date and extend your hire period simply call Michael on 07943 392 429.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have full employee liability cover as well as £5,000,00 public liability insurance. All staff are competent and fully qualified.

Will it Affect my Sky Signal?

It is likely that your satellite dish signal will be affected by the scaffolding. The scaffold can block the signal and therefore interrupt viewing. Your signal will return to normal once the scaffold is dismantled.
